Eveline Maedel

About this Christian Poet:
Eveline Maedel is a part-time writer, struggling to find her voice in a small northwestern Ontario town. While balancing the duties of full time work, wife , mother of two boys, and church life she finds that writing helps her reflect on her spiritual journey.

This poem was a finalist in the 2003 Utmost Short Short Poetry Contest requiring entries of 25 or fewer words.

Sermon

Sunday morning.

Poured molasses oration,
Drizzles onto milky white canvass.

Outside,
Blood red cardinal sings,
Piercing the blanket of snow.

Every word of God, flawless.
