James Beard

About this Christian Poet:
I hail from Texas, and have been a science and math instructor for most of my life. Now I read, write, and ranch mostly. But I still have to write of this amazing Christ. I am compelled again and again in efforts to grasp this Emmanuel fact somehow.

Emmanuel... my favorite God word.

This poem came walking into my mind early one morning before my eyes opened, reminding me again of how his own family may have thought He was "losing it." because "Love Walked Strange" then. . and now.

Love Walking Strange

Love
walking strange
through corn fields
with dirty hands
chock full of
miracles
pitching them
like
parade candy

A laddie’s lunch
two loaves
some fish mixed
with Grace and need

Blind eyes
seeing
beyond sight

Minds ricocheting
with shards of uncertainty
flashing
sporadically
through puzzled eyes

Each
pondered thoughtfully
fondly
by Love
walking strange
through corn fields
with dirty hands
pitching out
miracles
like He did
His little stars.
