Eulene H. Moores
Honorable Mention 2007 Christian Publishers Poetry Prize $20
Eulene Moores is a mother of six, grandmother of 14, and great grandmother of 3. With her husband of 52 years, she lives next door to her youngest daughter and her family, situated in a beautiful country setting West of Edmonton.
Eulene has always loved poetic expressions, having tried to write some verse when a small child. Her husband shares her appreciation of poetry and, during their courtship, shared many of their favorite poems.
In more recent years, she felt led by the Lord to write “Letters of Hope” via e-mail, for the purpose of comforting, encouraging, and teaching particularly younger women and mothers. In that process, she was inspired to write some poetry of her own that expressed truth from the Word of God. A web site is now in the process of being developed for a broader dissemination of her letters.
All Sufficient Grace
The Lord is all in all to those
Who place their trust in Him,
When Life has brought its deepest woes
And dreams and hopes grow dim.
A Husband to the widow lone;
A Father to the child;
A Shelter for the family
When storms are blowing wild.
A Welcome for the wayward son,
His wasted years restored;
A Healing for the wounded heart
With balm of Love outpoured.
The one whose trust is in the Lord
And looks to Him for grace,
Will find His all sufficiency
Enough to win Life’s race.
