Judith Frost

I live on the island of Montreal with my husband and daughter. My work has appeared in Time of Singing, Esprit, and Glad Tidings. As a homeschool Mom, I act as coach and cheering section for my daughter. Together, we share an ever deepening love for words. My gardening, quilting, and my life all compost down into rich soil for poetry!

Behold, I am coming soon
Yes, I am coming soon.
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
Revelation 22:12, 20, 21

A 'V' of geese turns
with the earth
as the pages of the year
are folded back

To souls in hibernation
within soundless burrows
this heartbeat of the earth
awakens something dormant

Rise to the pulse
of a thousand wings
Open your heart
to that pristine rhythm

A single feather
drifts earthward
Reach for it
It is a message

Scrutinize a solar parchment
images typeset millenia past
Sound out characters clearly inked on blue;
Wait for me.

The page is turned
I turn with it, hearing
in the fading wingbeats
all the promises encrypted in their passing
