About this Christian Poet:
I wrote this poem after reading the Bible to my children one evening. Some of those ideas were about the Tree Of Life (where I got the title for the poem), and being thankful, and trusting God.

Tasting of Trees

My appetite for trees
By faith indeed
Why couldn't I just believe
Even though I couldn't see?
My instincts betray my heart when I try to clean
The cobwebs from good intentions
But never a step will I waiver again
To miss your kisses on my bare feet
The dew
To feel your warmth radiating over my skin
The sun
To see your eyes watching me close through
Morning Glories
Telling of your goodness at bedtime reading stories
As I hold my children close, and rock them to sleep
Lying beside them, ready to receive my rest
And then to hear your voice
The crickets
Singing a nightfall lullaby melody
Tasting you in my sweet sleep
And to awaken to your mercies that are new every morning
No, I don't ever want to wander again.
