Ave Maria

Your tears run in a ceaseless flow
As he receives every blow
You stand there, able to do nought
But your heart Heaven's help sought
Ave Maria.

Your tears the angels mark
As he sets to tread thro' the ominous dark
Although there is a light beyond
Yet you now seem to despond
Ave Maria.

Between heaven and earth he hangs
Your heart, weakened by sorrow pangs,
Wonders if Heaven is also saying no
Just as ungrateful humans now do
Ave Maria.

Your hope is that he'd sleep well
But there's no bliss where he goes Ð it's hell
He must face stronger foes than he did here
Like it was here, he'll also win there
Ave Maria.

But now you must still flow with tears
As your heart feels the stings of many spears
Angels must still carry on with troubled brow
Until, in final defeat, hell is made to bow
Ave Maria.
