People Came From All Around
In a little town called Bethlehem so very far away;
a virgin lay her new born son upon a bed of hay.
People came from all around to see this precious sight;
Jesus wrapped in swaddling clothes beneath the starry night.
Many smiled, passing by, and whispered words so kind;
what a lovely child is this; I wish that he was mine.
At a place called Calvary on a hill so far away;
a mother watched her precious son die for sins to pay.
People came from all around to see this awful sight;
Jesus nailed to a Roman cross when day was dark as night.
Many frowned, passing by, and shouted words of hate;
he claimed to be the Saviour but him I will not take.
At a bustling place called Shopping Mall not so far away;
we watched as they banned Mary's child, with not a word to say.
People came from all around to see the lights so bright;
they sang
about the Holidays instead of Silent Night.
Many smiled, passing by, and whispered words of cheer;
not giving thought that Jesus Christ ever had been here.
