Introducing Violet Nesdoly
In July 2008 Violet Nesdoly signed on as Utmost Christian Writers' first regular monthly columnist. She provides a column available for reading on the first of each month. We're excited about this step forward for Utmost, and we have confidence that you'll find Violet's columns inspirational and helpful.
Violet Nesdoly lives in Langley, B.C. with her husband. She is the mother of two adult children and is a grandmother. She is a freelance writer and has been published in a variety of print and online publications.
From 2003 to 2008 she won six Word Guild Canadian Writing Awards and one Merit Award for articles in the Children and Young Adult, First Person, and Book Review categories. She has also won awards from Inscribe Christian Writers' Fellowship for devotionals and poetry, and from Utmost Christian Writers Foundation for poetry.
Her poetry has been published in Time of Singing, Mennonite Brethern Herald, Prairie Messenger, CAPPERS, Birds and Blooms, utmostchristianwriters.com, and others. Her second book of poems, Family Reunion, was released in February 2007 in conjunction with her term as Utmost International Christian Poet Laureate, Spring of 2006 to March 2008.
Violet enjoys writing for the web, maintains several blogs (a children's daily devotional blog: Bible Drive-Thru, a personal blog: promptings, a poetry blog: Line Upon Line, and contributes to a group writers' blog: Inscribe Writers Online.
